I lease a CAT backhoe and loader. They come out and do all the maintenance, that’s included in the lease.I find that from a business prospective it just work for me.
my husband bought a tractor (pretty decent size), and the upkeep isn’t too bad. He does have to make sure that all the parts are greased monthly (not sure how much the grease is), and we have a friend who comes over once every year to do a thorough inspection of it to make sure all is well with it and some other fine tuning(he charges us $100). We keep it in the garage, so it’s not left in new england’s crazy weather. I don’t know much about the backhoes, but it can’t be that much different. Our builder actually lets us borrow his and according to him, he does the same that we do with our tractor.
unless you ,need new tires,
the rest is easy, to maintain
grease gas,and wash it , maybe once in a blue moon,
i would keep spare hoses, as they tend to wear out ,
and make sure you have ,tons of transmission fluid
better safe than sorry
